Status changed from Open to Closed ---------------------------------------- Bug #10458: After r48196, make cannot complete because of Unicode file download problem https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/10458#change-56159 * Author: Martin Drst * Status: Closed * Priority: Normal * Assignee: Nobuyoshi Nakada * ruby -v: ruby 2.2.0dev (2014-10-30 trunk 48194) [x86_64-cygwin] * Backport: 2.0.0: UNKNOWN, 2.1: UNKNOWN ---------------------------------------- When I did make up; make install-nodoc after r48196, make finished with the messages below. This was after the three Unicode data files had been downloaded correctly into enc/unicode/data/7.0.0 earlier in the make process. I know that the idea of creating separate directories for separate Unicode versions was discussed at the meeting yesterday. But I think it is unnecessary, and may lead to some people keeping lots of old data around when it could be overwritten. It would be better to note the version/data in a very small file, as discussed at https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/issues/10416#note-3. These are the error messages I got (only the end of the output is copied). make[2]: Entering directory '/cygdrive/c/Data/ruby-public' Downloading Unicode 7.0.0 data files... usage: tool/downloader.rb url name uncommon.mk:1119: recipe for target '.unicode-7.0.0.time' failed make[2]: *** [.unicode-7.0.0.time] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory '/cygdrive/c/Data/ruby-public' exts.mk:62: recipe for target 'all' failed make[1]: *** [all] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving directory '/cygdrive/c/Data/ruby-public' uncommon.mk:187: recipe for target 'build-ext' failed make: *** [build-ext] Error 2 -- https://bugs.ruby-lang.org/ Unsubscribe:
