Besides the "Programming Ruby" book, you might consider Dave and
Andrew's other book "The Pragmatic Programmer" which "covers topics
ranging from personal responsibility and career development to
architectural techniques for keeping your code flexible and easy to
adapt and reuse", or, in briefer words, down-to-earth good programming
practices and habits. What's nice about both books is that they don't
read like a text book.

"Pragmatic" and Programming Ruby" both cover aspects of
object-orientation (oo) basics and principles, but you may want to
look further for a good book on oo basics (though it will probably be
written with examples from other oo languages).

Suggestions anyone?

Enjoy!
