[ruby-talk:11781] SNMP module in RAA

This module is the beginnings of a Ruby extension to the UCD-SNMP library.

Running on Linux.

I installed UCD-SNMP 4.2  (config, make, make install dance)

Tried to make the Ruby SNMP extension.

tar'd to /usr/local, all files put in SNMP directory.

When run ruby extconf.rb, I get:

checking for ruby.h... ./mkmf.rb:73:in 'open': Permission denied -
"conftest.c"
(Errno::EACCESS)
	from ./mkmf.rb:73:in 'try_cpp'

I checked permissions.  All files in SNMP directory are owned by me, both
user
and group.  File conftest.c is not found in the directory.

Should I be able to make this project, or am I doing something wrong.
