I fully agree. We shouldn't start an advocacy "war"/dispute. I posted
since IMHO its good to know every (well;-)) public mentioning of Ruby to
know how its accepted/taken up/received in the larger community...

I guess it might be a good thing to have a web page with stats on the
growth of Ruby (increase in number of postings, RAA submissions and so
on) and we might even consider mailing ESR about the web page but I doubt
it would change his view of Ruby as of now. His view seems to be based on
number-of-years-in-the-public / number-of-eyes-of-peer-review-and-use and
then I guess he's partly right (relative to Perl and other langs he
mentions)... (la the reasoning in the "Selling Ruby to upper management
thread").
