I have seen several posts latelty discussing this issue. I'm not sure it is a concern though. If Ruby is used like php with a mysql database, then chances are you are not asking ruby to do alot of complex computation, plus mysql's work is independent of ruby, so db acccess is not an issue. However, right now I'm guessing that there would be some performance degredation if I were to switch from php to ruby. But, this is why the post, I can only guess right now and although I am tempted to launch into a new web project with Ruby, instead of php, I would like to hear from others if it is going to be worth it right now.
