FXRuby (http://fxruby.sourceforge.net) should be able to handle this just fine, but then again, I think most of the GUI toolkits for Ruby can. FXRuby provides both a basic 2-D canvas (FXCanvas) as well as an OpenGL-enabled 3-D canvas (FXGLCanvas). The standard FXRuby source distribution includes example programs demonstrating both of these widgets.
