I was looking at OS/X yesterday and although the sales guys where terrible (when the found out I was not going to spend 6k on the G4 laptop they ignored me) I did have the pleasure to try OS/X -- more specifically, the console. Tk/Tcl is already ported so is Perl. The OS/X shell comes with the cc compiler and all the base libs for compiling Ruby, so on that front it should be pretty easy. Apache and all the other stuff is there, so in essence it should be a straight BSD compile of Ruby. I'm currently looking at OS/X and the new iBook as a possible laptop semi-Unix type of box. So, the executive summary -- I think the port should be fairly easy and should work well over all.
