The server has a directory from which apache starts ruby code with mod_ruby. This directory is aviable for the client via Samba-Server. On the client I do the follwing thing: - I open my browser - I go to the html version of "Programming Ruby - The PPG" - I mark a piece of source code in the book and copy it to clipboard - I open a text editor past in the source from clipboard and save the file in the directory on the server - I open a new browser window and try to start the script The script fails it brings error messages like this: ruby: /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:1: Invalid char `\240' in expression (SyntaxError) /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:1: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:2: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:3: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:3: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:3: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:3: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:4: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:4: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:4: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:4: Invalid char `\240' in expression /usr/local/export/http/ruby/test.rb:4: Invalid char `\240' in expression This never happend to me doing the same thing with Perl or PHP.
