How about extending the idea slightly, and at the same time making it
slightly more general:

 somefile.rb:
    VersionInfo {
      version 1.2.3
      author  "matju"
      ... etc
    }

 otherfile.rb:

    require "somefile" { |v| v.version.between(1.2, 1.3) and v.author == "matju")}


Having the VersionInfo in there means that RAA.succ can extract good
stuff too.
