The point is to call gtk_progress_bar_paint().
But it's static function and you can't (and shouldn't be able to) call
progress_class->paint within Ruby/Gtk.
As Kevin already stated, Gtk+ doesn't want you to mess around widget
color. so this is not a misfeature nor a bug.
read gtk_progress_bar.c:gtk_progress_bar_paint() and
gtk_progress.c:gtk_progress_create_pixmap() if you want to understand
what's going on.
