Not to mention nice site/community worthy of Ruby emulation. Feature-wise, I especially like being able to scroll through everything on a thread (rather than having to repeatedly click, wait, click, wait, click, wait, ...). # ># Tk is a good fit for very simple applications. # > # >That was certainly my experience with Perl/Tk some years ago. # # Exactly. Perl/Tk came out and was sufficient to the main # need. If you want to write GUI wrappers, you will hit # problems with Perl before Tk, and hence there is little # need in the Perl community for anything more sophisticated # in the way of GUI toolkits than Tk. Let me more or less repeat my earlier question, this time to Dave (Thomas): what was your reason for telling the XP folks that Ruby (presumably with Tk) was not up to snuff for heavy GUI lifting? Performance? Missing many now-common-elsewhere widgets? Or ...? Conrad Schneiker (This note is unofficial and subject to improvement without notice.)
