Subject: [ruby-talk:7897] Just starting -- am I stupid? (new and initialize)

I've been looking and looking in the Ruby documentation on
ruby-lang.org and rubycentral.com, and I can't find any documentation
on how object creation and initialization works.  I think I can figure
it out, both from context and because I recently learned Smalltalk,
but isn't that a pretty major omission?  Can anyone point me at
anything I may be missing?
