Before we shut the door, I wouldn't mind some discussion on FOX. I've downloaded it and had a play, and it seems quite nice. Not as fancy as GTK, but pretty straightforward to use, and with a very familiar L&F for windows users. The Python wrappers are pretty complete, and most of the SWIG stuff should be directly usable (I think). I'd also like to see a discussion of what we actually _need_. Are we looking for widgets, drawing capabilities, skins, ... And... I'd like to discuss deployment issues too. If we want to make this _the_ Ruby GUI, then we need to make sure it is shipped with every Ruby distribution. This means binary packages for Windows users, and one-stop downloads for the Unix crowd. I'd also hope that we can stick the GUI stuff into DLLs under Windows: I'm not sure what the current state of the art is when it comes to putting C++ libraries into DLLs. So, while I'm seeking closure, I'd also like to make sure that we're choosing a sustainable option. If it would help, I could put up a Wiki where we could list the various options, their pros and cons, and plan a way forward. Tell me what y'all think. Dave
