[ruby-talk:20937] trouble loading self-compiled extension in cygwin.

Hello, folks!

After compiling and linking the mysql extension within the 
cygwin environment I received this kind of behavior:

$ pwd
/usr/local/lib/ruby/1.6/i686-cygwin

$ ls m[dy]*.so
md5.so  mysql.so

$ ruby -e 'require "md5"'

$ ruby -e 'require "mysql"'
-e:1:in `require': dlopen: Win32 error 126 -
/usr/local/lib/ruby/1.6/i686-cygwin/mysql.so (LoadError)
         from -e:1

####################################################################



According to my researches `Win32 error 126' means something like
`can't find this DLL!' -- but it's a bit surprising for me since
the extension in question compiled and linked without problems; 
moreover, it's placed in the same directory as standard 
Ruby extensions like md5.so.

I just followed the installation instructions, but maybe there's 
something I missed.  [Just a suspicion: For cygwin, there's a kind
of list of canonical extensions for Ruby where mysql.so hasn't 
been registered yet.]

Any ideas?  If you need more information about my environment, 
please tell me.  Perhaps it helps to know that I linked the 
extension against a binary distribution of MySQL and didn't build
the database myself.

Help will be greatly appreciated.
