Aha!  By re-sorting by name of sender to find my post, I discovered that it 
looks like the version of knode I'm using has the UNIX 1000000000 bug!

Everything after about 4:50pm on September 9th has been sorted out of order 
:-).

I suppose I should have guessed that.  Time to go look for a new version ...
