From: David Douthitt Date: 2001-09-13T03:43:45+09:00 Subject: [ruby-talk:21174] Ruby 1.4.5 vs. 1.6 Immediately I found one difference between the two; consider this line: home =~ /\/([^/]+)$/ In 1.4 this works and matches a / followed by a series of characters EXCEPT a / character. In 1.6, this line errors out with an error about premature end of the pattern, with a pointer to the / in the [] set. I had to convert from [^/] to [^\/]. We'll see what else comes up. I thought almost ALL characters inside of [] were supposed to be non-special.
