I am sorry that I cannot help you more, but FWI, we have created a few large projects that are using Swig with Ruby, Perl and Tcl. ... And, the easiest language to interface to (by far) is Ruby (even though there is NO swig documentation available for Ruby). Thus, Ruby is a very viable option for swig!
