メソッドRegexp.quote(string)は、文字列を正規表現としてみてもその文字列そのもの
にマッチするように、正規表現として意味のある文字をエスケープした文字列を返しま

のように変換します。このメソッドは、正規表現上意味のある文字を含む可能性のある
文字列変数を正規表現中にを埋め込みたい時などによく用いられる便利なメソッドです。


*** (A) Regular Expression Escapes

The method Regexp.quote(string) escapes any characters that would have special
meaning in a regular expression in order for it to match the string
itself. For example, it makes such changes as:

This method is convenient and is commonly used when, for example, you want to
embed string variables that may include characters that have a special meaning
in regular expressions within regular expressions.
