Hi,

On AIX 4.3.2, when I ran configure, I got:
....
checking whether OS depend dynamic link works... yes
./configure[5170]: : cannot execute
./configure[5170]: ${prefix}/lib/ruby/site_ruby:  not found
creating config.h
....

When I made this change to configure, everything (including make test)
worked fine:

SITE_DIR="`eval echo ${sitedir}`"
#??? SITE_DIR="`eval "echo ${sitedir}"`"

(FWIW, /bin/sh appears to be identical to /bin/ksh on my systems.)

# ruby -v
ruby 1.6.1 (2000-09-27) [rs6000-aix4.3.2.0]

I next tried the demos in the English version of ruby-tk81-demos
(identical to RAA version). Some demos work OK, but the widget demo
doesn't. If I start up widget and click on "1.Labels ...", I get this:
