[ruby-talk:6163] RE: mail archive

In message http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/6160
<http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/6160>  Maurice
asked for mailing list archive. Well, the good news is there's one at

   http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/ruby/ruby-talk/index.shtml
<http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/ruby/ruby-talk/index.shtml>

and the bad news that it's extremely good archive, containing messages in
browsable environment. So you'll end up sitting there a lot. It also has
Japanese lists if you're interested in.

There's new engine in the works, so be prepared to change addresses (maybe
they change) in the near future. The other minus side is, that you can't get
local copy of mails easily there. But you can get them from the mailing list
software (the helps came when you subscribed) or from the location

  ftp://ftp.netlab.co.jp/pub/lang/ruby
<ftp://ftp.netlab.co.jp/pub/lang/ruby>

But it does not contain all the messages. The earlier ones anyway.

Beware when reading old messages, as some features are *old*, which means
they were replaced before I came into community (and that's not far in the
past :).

Ps. I'm sorry if the message is some weird html-version, as my mail program
seems to get excited about this topic...
