Hi,

In message "[ruby-talk:6563] Reading UTF-8 Streams"

|Is there any support for reading and writing UTF-8 encoded streams and

|it translated to/from UTF-8 (like what is possible with e.g. java streams).

Ruby's Regexp matcher handles UTF-8 properly. No conversion is
needed. No "internal" format is used.

Implicit conversion feature like Perl's "line descipline" is planned
for the future.
