Same thing, unfortunately, even after rebooting.

Dang if I know. I don't recall seeing any mention of that (FWIW), and I
don't see anything like that on any of the Start button program menus or in
the (out of) Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs list.

reply. :-) Anyway, here is that totally bogus mystery message:

  System Process - License Violation

  The system has detected tampering with your registered product type. This
  is a violation of your software license. Tampering with product type is

  permitted.
