Hi,

In message "[ruby-talk:4699] Double parenthesis"
on 00/09/01, Klaus Spreckelsen <ks@tp1.ruhr-uni-bochum.de> writes:

|Why is the first line ok, but the second line is not?

|ruby -e 'p (( [1].each do puts "hello" end ))'
|ruby -e 'p ( [1].each do puts "hello" end )'

1) the latter works on ruby 1.6.0.

2) in the former line, outer parenthesis are for argument list, inner
parenthesis are to group expression. It's good to distinguish two
   kinds of parenthesis.
