English version of Netscape can display Japanese pages without
any patch/plug-in. So, what you have to do are
 * install japanese fontset, and
 * configure Netscape to use Japanese fonts.

If you use Windows or Macintosh, see:
 http://etext.lib.virginia.edu/japanese/browser.html

If you use Linux/UNIX, it depends on what distribution/OS you use,
but in similay way to windows you can setup your environment.

But, there is a quick-and-easy way to view japanese pages without
Japanese fonts. Let's go www.shodouka.com, or access directly

http://www.lfw.org/shodouka/(some-japanese-page's-URL)

  (ex. http://www.lfw.org/shodouka/http://www.ruby-lang.org/ja/ )
