Hmm, I just joined this mailing list, so I'm not one to be too opinionated,
but I find using usenet annoying.  I joined the mailing list to use the
mailing list, not to use usenet.

.. but I gather you are doing this to try and force them to create a ruby
newsgroup for you ?
