Not until earlier today.

I was the one that contacted Maya Stodte (the author of the article) last
December and recommended that she consider doing an article on Ruby, but she
didn't tell me she was doing it until today. It was a wonderful surprise.

[By the way, be sure to look and the end of the article where it says "What
do you think of this article?", check the radio button labeled "Killer!"
(English slang that means "Extremely good!"), and press the "Submit
Feedback" button.]

I got the idea after reading her previous article in November 1999, "Running
away with the plot, The story of Perl".

I hope other Ruby fans will emulate this strategy elsewhere.
