Sure looks that way.

Also it seems to have preceeded Matz Ruby by at least 3 years.

I noticed that it also said:

    The name
         No, Ruby is not an acronym.
         It does not stand for anything.
         Ask Mary Sheeran, it is all her fault.

Apparently the previously mentioned acronyms serve a practical purpose of
distinguishing which Ruby is which.

However I wouldn't mind (as long as Matz didn't mind) seeing the Matz Ruby
be renamed "Ruby!" to avoid confusion, since Ruby! which has a certain
"methodologically" reflexive/recursive appeal to it as mentioned in the
ancestor thread.
