[ruby-talk:01305] Re: [HELP]: Compile Error on DEC alpha.
Hi matz, sorry for not answering so fast. But your backtrace request reaches me at home. The DEC Alpha is in the office, however. After applying your patch, ruby and its extensions could be built. That is one step further than yesterday. BTW: I have configured with '--with-static-linked-ext --without-gcc'. Now it will crash during 'make test'. The problem is, that as I am using the native compiler the GDB will not work correctly. So I have to use the native 'ladebug' debugger. As I do not know, how to operate with it, the quality of the backtrace is somewhat poor. But I hope you can use it! And here we are ... bztools@slbhdg 74 ~/true64/ruby-1.4.3 > make test /tmp_mnt/home/bztools/true64/ruby-1.4.3/sample/test.rb:186: [BUG] Segmentation fault test failed ./rubytest.rb:37: [BUG] Segmentation fault *** IOT/Abort trap - core dumped bztools@slbhdg 75 ~/true64/ruby-1.4.3 > ladebug ruby core Welcome to the Ladebug Debugger Version 4.0-49 ------------------ object file name: ruby core file name: core Reading symbolic information ...done Core file produced from executable miniruby Thread terminated at PC 0x3ff801a4c3c by signal IOT (ladebug) dump . >0 0x3ff801a4c3c in UnknownProcedure17FromFile12(0x388e, 0x6, 0xffffffffffefffff, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1fed) in /usr/shlib/libc.so #1 0x3ff801a4c38 in UnknownProcedure17FromFile12(0x388e, 0x6, 0xffffffffffefffff, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1fed) in /usr/shlib/libc.so #2 0x3ff801a4c38 in UnknownProcedure17FromFile12(0x388e, 0x6, 0xffffffffffefffff, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1fed) in /usr/shlib/libc.so #3 0x3ff801a4c38 in UnknownProcedure17FromFile12(0x388e, 0x6, 0xffffffffffefffff, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1fed) in /usr/shlib/libc.so #4 0x3ff801a4c38 in UnknownProcedure17FromFile12(0x388e, 0x6, 0xffffffffffefffff, 0x0, 0x0, 0x1fed) in /usr/shlib/libc.so #5 0x12002fb24 in line_fold(c2=1970417454, c1=0) "nkf1.7/nkf.c":1370 prev0=0 #6 0x120068854 in rb_str2inum(str=0x1400687b8="\002", base=1073833456) "bignum.c":242 sign='\000' c='\370' num=8 len=0 blen=4396973364024 i=4396973294352 z=4831979664 zds=0x0 val=4831814480 result=0 big=4396973412336 (ladebug) q Thanks in advance, \cle
