Hi Aleksi,

very nice article, indeed. I wholeheartly agree with you on all its
topics! Ruby is much better than Perl or Python, IMHO, and I am glad
I've met it. The only reason for me to use Perl sometimes is that Perl
offers some library that does simplify my work enormous and that does
not exists at the time being for Ruby.

As I use these language mainly for work, time is important. But I am
sure this gap will be closed on day in future.

We had a time of slow-growing interest. We had a time of advertising
and got a NG (thanks Conrad's effort) to allow whomever to follow our
discussions. Now we should also take a time to let things settle
down.

Ruby is best and it was growing in silence for ca. 7(?) years around.
For me Ruby was also a quiet, truthful and humble servant for all my
tasks I had so far. Modesty combined with power!!!

So I very like your idea to do it more indirect than direct. Let us
spread some subtle small pointers to Ruby everywhere AND everywhen it
is appropiate! For example is somebody asks in Perl or Python what
kind of language would the right one for task XXX, we could simple
pointing to Ruby ... but not shouting. If someone follows our pointer
=> good, if not => still good!

Or like you have proposed in your article!

Let us act modestly like Ruby, not crying like Perl or stubborn like
Python (and I mean the languages; not necessarily theirs followers)!
