煎じ詰めれば、まぁそういう論点ですね。

わたしは、ドメインフリークなので（そーいえば、しぶらぐノリで、
ruby-user類のドメインも取った記憶がある・・・どこ行ったんだろ？）
あちこちでバーチャルドメインやってますが、例えば、netgate さん：

でもって、

だから、sendmail 回しなのでしょう。

これって、バーチャルドメイン系ホスティングではふつうのことだと思います
（その昔、digiweb のときも同じサービスだった）。

なので、ふつうにバーチャルドメイン契約してれば、root でなくともQuickML 
立てられると思いますです（そんなに特殊なサービスではない、ぐらいの意）。
