I downloaded the rubicon test suite and first tried it out on the existing v1.9. There were failures all over the place. There was also a segmentation fault. I made a patch (attached) to at least fix this. The problem was rb_range_beg_len returning Qnil upon fail and several places were expecting 0 instead. I made the same fix in my fast array ruby. My fast array patch causes no additional failures in the rubicon/builtin/TestArray.rb suite or the ruby tree test/ruby test suite.
