From: "Charles E. Thornton" Date: 2005-09-16T06:11:25+09:00 Subject: Wilderness: How does __autoload__ work?? I have been trying to follow the logic rb_const_defined from rb_define_class.  If the Constant is defined in the
Class (or Module?) pointed to by super things are cool!

But if it is not, this autoload feature (const_missing) comes into play.  Where I get confused is how __autoload__
(an internal constant??) and the autoload table is constructed and used.  For example:
  1) Where is __autoload__ inserted into an iv_tbl
  2) Where is the autoload table created and loaded?
  3) Where does autoload_delete fit in

A brief description of how autoload it setup and works would helpful.

I can see that if a constant is undefined that an attempt is made to load the file (classname.rb) that may
contain the assumed class that the specified constant references.

BUT, how the autoload feature works in the MIDDLE of this is a confusing.
