As this may turn out to be a 3rd party issue rather than a bug, I'd like some feedback.

I just tried a few times in a row and have similar experience:

* I made a new account with username "peter_v" and a password.

* I was redirected to:
  http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/login

  tried to login with my new username and password(1), but got the
  error message:

  "X Invalid user or password"

  tried again with my email as login name, same result.

* I used the "Lost password" link. I was able to use the function
  on page http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/account/lost_password

  when trying with an incorrect email, I get:
  "X Incorrect user"

  when trying with correct email, I get the mail in my inbox.

* Using the link in the email:

  * with an outdated or invalid token: redirect to home page
  * with a valid, unused token: points to:

  http://redmine.ruby-lang.org/account/lost_password?token=e2lv....

  I can enter 2 times a new passsword.

  I enter an invalid password (only 3 characters) and get the
  error message: "X Invalid user or password".

  I asked the lost password mail again, I enter a valid password
  (10 characters, only letters and digits) 2 times equal and get
  the green message: "V Password was successfully updated." and
  redirected to the login page.

  But now ... in the form that shows the
  "V Password was successfully updated." in green on top,
  trying to login with user peter_v and my new password,results in

  "X Invalid user or password"

  I tried this a few times with different passwords, but every time
  I have no success. There seems something broken in the save of the
  new password (or the hashing ?).

  Redmine logs will probably show this. I tried, just now at
  12:00:30 UTC on 29 Dec 2010.

HTH,

Peter
