My version of least surprise says that it should be legal, but despised as
poor style.  If I ran into it by surprise I would first think that it would
probably be some special form, but discovering that it is a legal name isn't
surprising.  Merely distasteful.  (OTOH, I tend to think of $9 as 0x09.)
