   As the lead developer on Scintilla (and a subscriber to the IDLE mailing
list), I'd be surprised if IDLE was using or planning to use Scintilla to
print. Its possible, but I'd expect to be told (and receive fault reports
;) ) if this was done. There are ongoing campaigns to try to convince
Pythonists and especially Guido van Rossum to move to wxWindows as its cross
platform GUI. There is also a strong contingent of Tk boosters pulling the
opposite way.

   At this stage I don't think GTK+ is as serious about being cross platform
beyond X and Win32 as wxWindows and Tk are.
