Here is a small addition to Pathname against 1.9, probably suited

----------------------------- (8/21/05) ------------------------------

1) Reading 'rb_ivar_get' in VARIABLE.C
   ------------------------------------
   a) If OBJECT, CLASS, or MODULE
if iv_tbl and st_lookup ok - return value
        (no sweat)

   b) If FL_EXIVAR Set then Instance Variable will be
      available in 'generic_iv_tbl'
**(Is there a possible race condition with GC that can cause
the bit to be set and no Instance Variable available?

   c) Now Children - there is a test for SPECIAL CONSTANTS
**If the current Object is a special constant, then the
        function 'generic_ivar_get' is called???
WHY - it ONLY returns a value for an Instance Value in
              the 'generic_iv_tbl'
I could not figure a way to cause an Instance Value to
be a Special Constant? Is it possible?

If it is - Code Fragment please!
