Mathieu,
As I review what is written below, I find it is a little more
bitting than it should be.
It has nothing to do with you! It is that I have been working on
this a long time -- I
have had to set it down from time to time because of work! I am
committed completing
this project, and intend to do so.
If someone has completely translated book -- I would gladly read
it and shut down this
project for original translation. Until a complete translation
is available - I will continue!
Besides, when this is complete, we have to worry about all the
changes that have occurred
since the book was written --- Can you say YARV!
yours,
Chuck

RESPONSE
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As I said -- They did not wish to continue with the project -- IN FACT,
during my email conversations with them -- They killed
their email account.
I take that to mean that they are REALLY NOT INTERESTED!!!
As for the copyright issue I intend to use their Copy some Rights
Reserved -- Because the original author apparently asked them
to do so and I RESPECT ANY REQUEST FROM Minero Aoki, even if it is
second hand.
So as I see it -- I tried and failed to setup a working relation ship
with them.
AGAIN,
I am the only active developer/leader for this project! -- I will
gladly work with anyone.
AS FOR RUDY FORGE
I will gladly transfer the FINAL result to that project IF THEY LET ME!
FURTHER,
This project is PRIMARILY documenting a RUBY CORE LIST System -- IE
the Ruby Interpreter.
This list and it's members are the BEST Source of Information on the
software!!
I would prefer to keep this IN HOUSE until it is completed and review
technically!
Placing is so publicly on the net, ie Ruby Forge, would mean the
erroneously information being
downloaded AND DISTRIBUTED. That means that their could be thousands
of partial and incorrect
copies available on the net.
The only place I post is on my web site and do not publicize that
fact to anyone outside the
RUBY CORE LIST! "ceo@hawthorne-press.com"
NOW,
I will be glad to talk about my policies with you and any interest
party.
AS FOR BEING MY BOOK,
That is not exactly correct.
a) I am using is book structure, including 85% of his titles
and subtitles!
b) I am rewriting his prose in many cases - Making it more
readable to
English Speakers, at least I hope so. ;-)
c) At BEST I am a co-author -- At WORST I am a plagiarist!
d) Within those confines, I am operating with Minero Aoki's
general
permission. I will not knowingly distribute this work
beyond the
list without his final approval.
AS FOR STARTING A NEW PROJECT,
As far as I know I am the first person to start this project!
Ruby Forge
was not around (At least I did find it on my original quest to
find a
good English translation) with I started.
Yours Respectfully,
Chuck Thornton
