Subject: Plan to add ext/digest/lib/digest/hmac.rb to 1.8.6 or 1.8.7?

Hello,

I current have a need to use the HMAC hashing algorithm and noticed
that there is an implementation in the trunk under
ext/digest/lib/digest/hmac.rb

I noticed that the digest has some stuff from trunk merged into the
1.8 branch.  Unfortunately, hmac did not follow.  Is this on purpose?
If so, will I have to wait for Ruby 1.9 before this is officially
included?
