[ruby-talk:00560] How to abandon instance initialization.

From: clemens.hintze@...

Hi,

please consider following code sample...

	class Foo
	    def initialize(val)
	        if val == 0
	           # abandon instance building. But how?????
	        end
	        @ivar = val
	    end
	end

	foo1 = Foo.new(1)   # Should refer to an instance
	foo2 = Foo.new(0) # Should *NOT* refer to an instance.
	                    # Perhaps `foo2' could refer to `nil'?

Can I archieve that goal in Ruby, without using exceptions or so?

Thanks,
\cle
