Status changed from Open to Rejected Hi, I close the ticket because this is not a bug. MRI's GC is not exact. In other words, MRI does not guarantee that an object is collected as soon as it becomes unreachable. As matz said, the symptom can be decreased by some improvement (such as MBARI patch), but cannot be eradicated as long as MRI uses conservative GC. If you want MRI to import MBARI patch, please register Feature ticket into ruby 1.8 subproject. Advice: a big patch will not be accepted.
