This is fixed with Psych in 1.9.2:

require 'yaml'

YAML::ENGINE.yamler = 'psych'
class ::BaseballTeam
  attr_accessor :name
  def initialize(name); self.name = name; end
end

h = { BaseballTeam.new("New York Mets") => "national" }
p YAML::load( h.to_yaml )
