Is there a historical reason why I can't do something like these:

Category: Core
Group: 1.8.6
Status: Open
Resolution: None
Priority: 3
Submitted By: Jim Freeze (jfreeze)
Assigned to: Nobody (None)
Summary: exit from within block returns wrong value.

Initial Comment:
1.8.5
ruby -e 'at_exit { exit(1) }; echo $?   #=> 1

1.8.6
ruby -e 'at_exit { exit(1) }; echo $?   #=> 0

I believe the 1.8.6 return value is incorrect.
