Is there a historical reason why I can't do something like these:

Summary: OpenSSL Elliptic Curve patch (please review)

Initial Comment:
This patch adds most of the OpenSSL EC functions to ruby. It also makes some minor changes so that rdoc can work properly.

OpenSSL 0.9.8b or later is required for EC to work.
Limited documentation is available through rdoc.
A simple example is provided which shows how to import/export/generate
keys and sign/verify data.

Can this patch be added to 1.9.0 before it is released? The changes are
small with the exception of the new EC classes.
