Hi,

> a = 'I can make' " a large "\
>     'line like this'    
> b = %q{but why} %{not}\
>     %q{like this?}
> puts a,b


A concern of compatibility:


  def q
    yield
  end
  bar = "bar"
  p %q{foo %s baz} %q{bar}  #=> "foo bar baz" -> "foo %s bazbar"


Even if this concern is needless in practice, to implement your
request, we need to avoid the above interpretation by adding a
new lexer state, which increases chaos of syntax rule.

Thus, I guess it is difficult to accept the request.  I'll close
it unless there is objection.
