ruby-core

I did of course wrap the c-implemented sparse matrix as a Ruby object, but that can handle only doubles (which is nice most of the time) and needs a c compiler and ruby sources etc to be installed. For portability reasons, it would be nice to have a pure Ruby implementation.

The columns store the actual values (doubles), and the rows store pointers to the corresponding doubles. This way, I can update a double directly via the columns, via the rows after dereferencing the pointers.

I tried CC=cc CFLAGS="-g" and now the error is:
  /opt/build/ruby-1.8.4/lib/mkmf.rb:6: [BUG] unknown node type 0 (0x40034140)

Building with GCC 3.4.3 and CFLAGS="-O0" gives:
  setcontext: Signal context inaccessible.
