Readline and Revision 15546
Hello List, Revision 15546 introduced some changes to readline: * ext/readline/readline.c (readline_event): prevent polling. based on a patch from error errorsson in [ruby-Bugs-17675]. To trunk and 1_8 branch that solve the CPU issue of ruby sitting without doing anything on a Readline prompt. The problem is that a old bug (#1188) still applies (even is marked as fixed): http://rubyforge.org/tracker/?group_id=426&atid=1698&func=detail&aid=1188 This prevent test running and completing test suite on a MinGW setup, which is part of the effort of bootstrap One-Click Installer for Windows, as commented previously on ruby-talk and here. From the ticket comments, it seems Usaku Nakamura is responsible (or have enough knowledge) on that area, but from the latest commit, it seems is nobu. In any case, it's still broken, as commented later on the same ticket by the reporter, and never heard again. That broken thing is halting our work on this project. Is there a way I can contract work hours from ruby-core developers? Maybe that is a good alternative instead of asking for help: offer money. Maybe this will sound odd, bad or not polite enough, but the few hours I had free during January couldn't make progress on this project due this, and I need to get them fixed.
