There's more initial investment: he has to install a Subversion server. In the long run, it'll be easier for him, though. Subversion requires a lot less maintenance than CVS, and as a bonus will generate log files in XML ... meaning that a changelog could be generated in text or HTML by XSL. But, you're right. Matz has to *want* to shed the shackles of CVS; Ruby isn't a democracy. I really hope that Matz at least reads up on Subversion and looks at the advantages of migrating.
