So... change to the correct directory... (using `cd').

And you should search for an introduction to the DOS prompt or
command prompt (cmd.exe).

Yes. `rb' is the commonly used file extension.

You might want to check out  http://pine.fm/LearnToProgram/,
a nice introduction to some (Ruby) programming fundamentals.
