I used FreeBSD 11.0.  libffi is in /usr/local, so I would need
to rerun with "./configure --with-opt-dir=/usr/local"
(my usual ./configure --prefix= is $HOME)

Is fiddle that important?   Anyways, I can revert r58761 if you want.
