[ruby-talk:00357] thinking aloud

First off, I think Ruby is a very nice scripting language.
And extension writing is pretty nice too :)
Here's some thoughts and such:
1. will there ever be static type checking?
or is that totally out of scope.
2. has anyone considered a java port? (JRuby...?)
3. has 'freezing' or 'compiling' been attempted or
even being considered in the near future?
4. is there a 'class browser' or something like that
available for Ruby?
I'll probably think of more questions ;)
Thanks.
Bryce
